Preparation: between a few hours up to several days depending on the technique for mounting, staining, etc. Revision and Digitisation: Reviewing the sample for data collection, even if images are not obtained (cell counts, discussion of structures, etc.) or finding the exact aspects to be photographed can require from several minutes up to a few hours per sample. Image analysis: Once the digital image is obtained, it may be necessary to process it through the appropriate software to achieve lighting adjustments, cleaning, etc.. Depending on the state of the image, it may take up to several hours.
Digitisation: Scanning: Capturing an image requires only a few seconds, but may take several minutes per sample if a large number of images are obtained. Image analysis: It can be a considerable number of minutes if many aspects of the image have to be modified.
