Description

The VR-5000 includes a cross-sectional profile measurement menu with tools for measuring height, width, angle, radius, etc. A large variety of 3D analysis functions such as height difference, area, volume, and roughness are also included.
Generally, the zone of interest needs to visualized by at least two cameras. Therefore, the complexity is limited by this. Lots of small and deep crevices are often difficult to digitize correctly. The color texture has less quality than a texture produced by SfM. The Structured Light Microscope is specifically well suited for flat specimens with fine details like engravings, cut marks, etc. It is possible to combine several acquisition and produce a complete 3D models using third parties applications. The microscope is able to acquire good texture and use it in the Keyence application but it is not possible to export it as the texture of a 3D file (OBJ or PLY).

Pipeline
Cost(s)
-Preparation time: The system calibrates the automated plate when it's start, it is not necessary to repeat the procedure during the day. A few minutes to position the specimen. -Digitization procedure: The system will perform a pre-scan in order to allow you to select the wanted area, depending on the magnification chosen. The scanner will scan and stitch the scans in xyz automatically. If several views are requiered, they will need to be stitch together in a third party software. -Image analysis: The projects needs to be saved and cleaned prior to the merging of the 3D views and the export of the 3D model.
-Digitization procedure: A human intervention is needed only to place the specimen and check that the automate selection of the area is correct. In order to perform a full 3D object, the alignement and merging will be done in a third party software (GOM/Geomagic), this part will be time consuming. -Image analysis: Several minutes, depending on the complexity of the scan.
